Most business owners know how to run their business, but when it comes to search engine marketing strategies,  and marketing ideas for small business in general, they usually need some help.  I heard a great analogy the other day, that Google is like a giant filing cabinet and they have a file folder for each search term. Google combs the web looking for the best pages to put into their folders for each search term because they only have so much space in each folder. There are very specific things that Google looks for when they are deciding what makes it into their folders, and what makes it into the front of each folder. Search engine marketing strategies is usually broken down into two categories – on page factors, and off page factors. In this post, we will be looking at on page search engine marketing strategies.

When Google is looking for pages to show at the top of their search results, they are always keeping their users in mind. Google realizes that they are the most popular search engine because they provide the best and most accurate results, so they go the extra mile to make sure that they provide results that match the search term. You can add another word or phrase to the domain so that it is something like www.thebestwhittierdentists.com or www.whittierdentistsite.com. Under the general section, you will see that the site title is the first blank. Enter a title that contains your keyword and would be something that users would want to click on when they see it in the search results.
